Who I am. I am an instructional designer and e-Learning developer. With a background in occupational therapy and behavior analysis I am passionate about supporting people in building their repertoires, empowering them to be as independent and effective as possible.
My Process & Approach. I begin my process with gathering relevant information from stakeholders including taking the perspective of the learner. Gathering relevant information could take the form of interviewing subject matter experts, surveying the potential learners, and reviewing data that has already been collected. It is important for me to understand the desired outcomes of the organization and from this point, I can work backwards to support you in identifying learning solutions. Using ADDIE and SAM models as a framework to develop learning solutions allows for a collaborative approach and multiple iterations of a learning solution until it becomes fine-tuned for rolling out to the intended audience. Data collection and analysis are some of my favorite components to determine if a training has been effective and if it has met the business goal. This is accomplished using Kirkpatrick's Level 2 evaluation framework via quiz results, learner survey data and Level 3 evaluation methods determined with the organization. Examples of Level 3 evaluation methods can include employee performance data, customer satisfaction data, safety reports, customer retention rates and more. I value constructive feedback throughout my process and use it to make decisions and guide learning solutions and recommendations that satisfies the requirements of the business goal.
